Transplant Before Christmas... Donor found and transplant in the history books!!!
December 19th, Doug received his much needed bone marrow transplant however, he is not out of the woods yet. It takes a good bit of time for the donated marrow to kick in and start working producing desperately needed platelets, red, white blood cells that Aplastic Anemia robbed him of. He is at a condo made available to him and his family in Tampa where he will be for a while during the healing process. You may drop him a note via the Caringbridge website www.caringbridge.org /visit/ (Then Type In dougwilliams) to his page. May 2007 Finds Doug back at home and very glad to be there! Hear he is getting around a bit and has hit a few bumps in the road however, without this transplant, likely, he would not be with us today. For all who helped with their time, donations and prayer. Thank you all... While putting the word out there about Doug, I was told of a 2 and 6 year old who are very much in the same boat Doug was not long ago. Keep in mind continuing support of NTAF and families like Doug's as you read on.
